If the environment contains SUN/UV RAYS:
Most durable options: Stainless steel, aluminum (not anodized), DuraBlack, modified acrylic engraving plastic, high-impact polystyrene (HIPS), vinyl, sign-grade fiberglass, coated polyester
If the product needs to be ABRASION resistant:
Most durable options: Stainless steel, DuraBlack, hard-coated polyester, polycarbonate, some engraving plastics (textured is a good one)
If the product needs to be FIRE resistant:
Most durable options: Stainless steel, brass, DuraBlack, Safe-T-Mark, fiberglass, aluminum
If the product needs to be electrically NON-CONDUCTIVE:
Most durable options: Safe-T-Mark, fiberglass
If the product needs to be FLEXIBLE:
Most durable options: Alumamark, DuraBlack, thin engraving plastic, styrene, vinyl, polyester
If the product needs to be OUTDOORS:
Most durable options: Stainless steel, aluminum, Alumamark (with clear coating), DuraBlack, modified acrylic engraving plastic, high-impact polystyrene (HIPS), vinyl, sign grade fiberglass, hard-coated polyester, pressure-sensitive 3M467 & 3M468 adhesive, 3M VHB tape, Tesa gold tape
If you are focused on a product that is COST EFFICIENT:
Economical choices: Aluminum (substrate with UV print), Alumamark, aluminum composite (substrate with UV print), HIPS, polyester, vinyl
